DOG OBEDIENCE TRAINING
Whether it's your first puppy or you are an experienced guardian, DOGGONE has a TRAINING PROGRAM that is the right fit for you and your best friend.
Choose a packaged training program, allow me to design one that is tailored to fit you and your dog's needs, or take training one session at a time.
DOGGONE will guide you through all of the training essentials, ensuring you have a practical understanding of commonly used tools, protocols, procedures, and terminology. I feel the 'why' is as important as the 'what.'
Personalized, detailed training notes and homework will accompany each session.
Behavioural support is included as part of the service, particularly for reactive or timid dogs.
Train with me in-person at your home within the service area, or choose to go virtual for convenience, with 100% of training taking place online. I have trained virtually with dozens of clients and dogs from all over the province.
DOG WALKING
DOGGONE also provides WALKING SERVICES.
Have your dog walked when you don't have the opportunity to.
Or choose the popular hybrid WALK & PLAY package which provides a full hour of human interaction and exercise when you are unable to attend to your dog's needs.
Whichever program you select, I pride myself on personalized, flexible service. I will work with you to accommodate irregular schedules or special requirements.

My name is Dale, Certified Professional Dog Trainer and Owner at DOGGONE TRAINING & WALKING.
As long as I can remember, my PASSION has been dogs, dogs, and more dogs! I considered the possibility of working with these wonderful creatures and transitioning into the dog business for years, but never thought I would ever actually have the opportunity to.
Then, when my career in another industry abruptly ended, I had some soul-searching to do. It was during this time that our beloved young family dog, Ozzy, fell suddenly ill and tragically passed away. Ozzy's loss proved to be the catalyst for my decision to make a move in this direction. In doing so, I managed to extract something positive from that devastating event, and I'm so happy I did!
In the course of my training, I was fortunate enough to work with Dodger, a handsome rescue from Tennessee that had experienced horrible neglect. As fate would have it, we adopted this adorable mutt, and he has filled our hearts with love and joy ever since!
DOGGONE is dedicated to the memory of Ozzy, and to our bright future with Dodger - two very good boys!
I have been educated using non-aversive, positive reinforcement-based techniques that meet the highest ethical standards in humane canine training. I follow the protocols laid out in LIMA, using Least Intrusive, Minimally Aversive methods.
I view training as a cooperative partnership between the dog and the handler.
Training can be a key component in your dog's development.
While it is beneficial to have a dog with good manners, it is equally important to adopt a training routine into a dog's schedule for enrichment purposes. Training challenges a dog's mind, and mental stimulation is not only necessary for proper function, but also known to tire a dog out just as much or more than physical activity.
Nutrition, along with exercise and enrichment play vital roles in a dog's behavioural profile. A healthy and fulfilled dog tends to have less behavioural issues.
Every dog and breed is different, and some dogs require more or less of some things than others. In addition to providing you with a thorough understanding of the principles of training, I will help you navigate nutrition, equipment, exercise, enrichment and provide behavioural support to put your dog on the right path to becoming the happiest and healthiest version of itself!
My expertise is the cornerstone of this business.
I am a Certified Professional Dog Trainer - Knowledge Assessed (CPDT-KA) through the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers, an organization based in the US that helps to regulate the industry.
I have also undergone rigorous training and testing as a graduate of the highly-regarded Canine Foundations Training Academy.
I have spent well over 400 hours honing my skills in private and group training sessions with dog/human pairs.
Volunteering with dog rescues in the Greater Toronto Area, I have gained a different perspective from assisting dogs in need. This is where I also acquired experience in Behavioural Support.
I pride myself on serving clients to the fullest of my capabilities.

Please contact me if you cannot find an answer to your question.
Yes. I am a Certified Professional Dog Trainer - Knowledge Assessed (CPDT-KA) through a regulating body called the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers (CCPDT.)
I have been educated through the highly-regarded Canine Foundations Training Academy where I accumulated well over 350 Hours of hands-on experience.
I’ve done a lot of research on like services and feel my pricing is fair and equitable. I believe that the service I provide is best-in-class. I don’t view other services, trainers or walkers as competition. We are all members of the dog professionals community, and we compliment each other by providing needed services to the public out of our collective love for our furry friends!
I will always do my best to accommodate, depending on schedule and location. Typically there will be an additional cost for time and travel. Please inquire and I'll try to find an equitable solution for both of us.
As part of my service mandate, I will always do my best to accommodate requests that fall outside of standard hours, or the service menu. Call, text or send me a note, and we can explore solutions that fit your needs.
No, not at this time, it's just me! As the business grows, I may consider sub-contracting other dog professionals, but for now the services you pay for are provided solely by myself.
Yes. When I say 35 minutes of walking, that is what your dog gets. Depending on the season, weather conditions and other factors, it can take an additional time to prepare your dog for a walk, and also to return your dog as she/he was found. This may include cleaning, drying, removal of coats or boots, returning them to a crate, and refreshing water. I will ensure that there is ample time on either side of the walk so that your pet gets the exercise they deserve!
Every dog is different and they learn at different rates. Therefore results cannot be guaranteed.
What I can say is that I have almost always seen positive results, even with dogs that have appeared resistant to training, or have had some behavioural issues.
If a trainer guarantees results, you should be wary!
Regardless, I always strive to be fair and find a way to satisfy every client's needs.
